It's a GIVEAWAY!

For real(s).

In order to win this super cute bag I whipped up today, you have to leave me a comment with a good vacation book recommendation.

We're leaving for Gulf Shores on Saturday, and I need some reading material folks.

And here's the prize:

It is the first bag I have ever made in this style, so I hope y'all like it. It measures 11in x 6in x 4in. There are also three pockets. And it has a ribbon tie closure.

I'll stop accepting comments Thursday at 8pm. Sharp. Then I'll either use a random number online picker thingy or ask Clark to choose a number to pick the winner.

Then I'll annouce the winner Friday morning!

Good luck!

As far as fiction goes, lately I've been enjoying books by Ted Dekkar. I just finished reading The Saint (from library), but I have a few other of his books you could borrow. For nonfiction, Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World is pretty good. You could borrow it as well... assuming I win the bag. he,he (kidding, you can borrow them either way)

The Time Traveler's Wife (can't remember the author). It's definetly vacation reading (if you know what I mean...). So, if I don't win the bag, can I order one?

if you want to read something super light hearted that will get you away from reality, start with Confessions of a Shopaholic by sophie kinsella. There are 5 books in the series & I enjoy EVERY book she writes...she does drop the F-bomb on occasion, but i just skip over that part! I blame it on the fact that she's british....and that she probably just doesn't have a very big vocabulary...which wouldn't really make sense since she's a writer...oh, here i go rambling again....but anyway, there's my suggestion....i might have better ones later. I'll keep thinking.....

I love the Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri. I read it on our honeymoon and she became one of my favourite authors.

If you want a book that will make you glad your vacation is over because there are so many great things at home to get back to, I recommend
the Shaping of Christian Family by Elizabeth Elliot.

I just read White Chocolate Moments by Lori Wick. I borrowed it from the church library. All og her books are quick reads great fr vacation. I also enjoyed Life of Pi by Martel and both Kite Runner and 1000 splendid Suns by Hosseini. A little heavier reads though.

I agree with the Life of Pi rec. and the Time Traveller's Wife rec. - both are excellent! My personal choice is Peace Like a River by Lief Enger, and I'm a librarian, so I know it ALL! :)

Intense but a fast read: Peace Child by Don Richardson.
Good lighthearted encouraging fiction: Candle in the Darkness (Refiner's Fire Series) by Lynn Austin.
You might have read both of these though, I can't remember.
They always have Lynn Austin books at have Half Price Books.
Happy vacationing and happy reading!
