Seriously!

How flippin' cute is this skirt?!

I was reading my old friend, Missie's, blog today and she had these really cute pics of her daughter up. In one, she had on this major purple tutu and looked so cute! I've been wanting one for Corinne, so Missie told me to look at Gymboree.

Big mistake!

I think I'm really going to have to go back to work just to buy Corinne's clothes from there now. Oh my gosh! I don't know why I've never looked at Gymboree before. Well, probably b/c it's out of our budget. But, oh my!

And there were really cute little sailor shorts and then a little bathing suit with a turtle on it and little curly bows...

I have been wanting to buy a "pettiskirt" for Katherine for some time now. I see them on a log of kids on photographer blogs. THey are not cheap though so I may have to check out gymboree. Did you know that Gymboree now has a more budget store online? It is called Crazy 8. My favorite cute kids store is Children's Place. More affordable. Gymboree does sometimes have good prices in the sale section.

Okay, I have to give you a few suggestions with Gymboree.

Crazy 8 is cute, but I can hardly find the size I need. But, I rarely go there.

With Gymboree, I only shop sales. If you keep tabs on their website, they have this baby-sale every so-often where everything between $10-19 is marked down to 10, and anything between $20-39 is marked down to 20. That is when I got the tu-tu, for $10. That is when I get loaded up on my "goodies" from there.
Other than, I usually shop at San Marcos outlets, or Old Navy, or BabyGap sales.

I'm in the same boat...I am having a hard time not wanting to go crazy dressing Madeleine. I just got some things for her on super sale (sweaters that were 50% off) during a time they were having the Gym Bucks sale. I don't know the spending breaks, but I earned $25 for spending not much more than that (and JM was shocked when he heard how much I found on sale). That's kinda cool. I also saw the sailor outfit...put it in and out of my shopping cart a few times. :) Baby girls are so cute in everything!

Warning---Gymboree can be very addicting! I've learned to limit myself to buy things for the girls ONLY during gymbuck time and when I can redeem my gymbucks. I only buy items that are on sale, and I usually try to purchase things for the following year since our sizes have been fairly predictable. I don't know what the quality of clothes from Crazy 8 is like, but I'm expecting to get four years out of everything I buy from Gymboree...it's good that Kaila's petite and Elise doesn't mind hand-me-downs.

Don't get me started on Gymbo - I'm too embarassed to admit how much I know about that store.

I saw the pettiskirts for the first time at Canton (they're EVERYWHERE, selling for like $80). Evidently, Hannah Montana wore one in a video and that's where the craze began.

Fun post, thanks!

Erin, I have some websites for you to check out to make your own tu-tu. Let me get them together and I'll email them to you. They look pretty easy, and I am going to try to make a few myself, and I am no craftsman of fabric by any means.

i'm so glad i have a boy!!
i had a friend that worked for gymboree in california...she said that the best time to shop is off season. if you find something you want and they don't have it in stock they will call/look it up for you and have it shipped for you.
i've been in the store, but couldn't even afford their inseason sales. my pockets just aren't that deep, and i'm not sure i would ever let them be that deep.
